HOPE and COVID-19
1. Change the way we do life, immediately.
2. Move from anxiety, to love and preparation.
As communities across the U.S. and around the globe are faced with the crisis that COVID-19 represents, two things are clear: we need to be proactive in preventing and treating the disease and we need to move from anxiety and panic, to a posture of love and preparation. Informed decisive action will help minimize the spread of the virus and cut short the life of current health and economic repercussions.
There are great sources of information out there that provide a balanced assessment of the coronavirus and its effect on the world around us. Many more that provide helpful tips on how to safeguard the spread of the virus and be thoughtfully prepared. That said, we, the community of Hope, want to help fill the gaps in the conversation as best we can.
Two gaps we see are:
1. How do you move from anxiety to a sense of wellbeing in this time of uncertainty?
2. How do you navigate this crisis with a heart for your community?
We don’t claim to have all the answers, but as we engage in conversation with each other we believe some great things will emerge. Please share your thoughts below or email mark.goeser@hopeventures.org on how we might rise to the challenge.
As we continue to work with partners around the world to help the poor climb out of poverty into God’s provision of love and care, know that we are here for you as well.
P.S. Here is an insightful article written to Christians who are grappling on how respond to the current pandemic.
